Jim Cunningham, the Labour MP for Coventry South, has announced that he will put forward a parliamentary bill to force the General Medical Council to shake up its disciplinary procedures. The move follows the suspension of breast surgeon Briony Ackroyd, following allegations of "clinical incompetence".
