David Davis, the powerful chairman of the Commons Public Accounts Committee, has attacked as "deplorable" ministers' behaviour in relation to the millennium dome. He said the government showed "scant regard" for parliament by not alerting MPs to the full horrors of the dome's troubled financial position.
