Euro - MPs demand 'true cost' of single currency

The Commons trade and industry committee yesterday slammed the chancellor, Gordon Brown, for not revealing the true cost of joining the European single currency. The Labour chairman of the committee, Martin O'Neill, estimated the cost at £30 billion - Britain in Europe estimate it at £6.7 billion.
