The Woodland Trust attempts to break the World Record for planting trees

The Woodland Trust attempts to break the World record for the number of trees planted in 60 minutes at both Hainault Forest and Heartwood Forest, as part of the BBC's Tree O'clock. In total the Woodland Trust hoped to plant 70,000 trees across the UK.

Trees take a walk through corridors of power

Before Parliament closed for the summer recess, Peter Luff MP hosted a reception on behalf of the Woodland Trust to raise awareness of the importance of woodland creation in the UK. A film of the day is now available to view.

Neighbours from Hell

This video attempts to highlight to planners, developers and the public the serious impacts of insensitive and too-close development on adjacent woodland, launching our Impact Report.

Just as our hero is struggling to cope with his noisy, inconsiderate and polluting next-door neighbours, woodland is suffering too. Impacts, such as run-off and contamination from roads built without suitable drainage systems, or housing estates built unsympathetically close to the woodland edge – are causing serious long-term ecological damage.

Caught in the Act

Aiming to highlight the fate of ancient woodland in planning decisions, launching our exciting WoodWatch campaign. Ancient woodland destruction LIVE! A first-hand view of the devastation that can happen when a peaceful ‘ancient woodland’ gets an unexpected visit from The Developers.

The Day the Trees Came to Town

This video gives a rare behind-the-scenes look at our campaign to raise objections against ancient woodland loss at Stansted on the streets of London.

Follow the Campaigns team as they become ‘the Trees of Philipland Wood’ and visit London, gathering hundreds of additional objections to new runway plans that will destroy their home forever - bringing ancient woodland to the heart of the City, where many people don’t think of woods and trees as part of their lives.

'Plane Crazy' at Stansted airport

This video is aiming to raise the public's awareness of the threat to precious ancient woodland posed by unwelcome and unnecessary airport expansion.

The trees fight back! A spoof film looking at an airport owner's plans to transform 6 ancient woodland sites (covering 19ha) into a smooth concrete slab that will be known as Stansted's second runway – before he discovers that the ancient trees of Philipland Wood are prepared to fight... if you can help them!
