UK Campaigning

RNIB's campaigning for the next five years primary aim is to End the Isolation of Sightloss. This strategy is underpinned by three key priority work areas.

Click on the priorities below to learn more about our campaigns in this area:

Priority 1: Stopping People Losing their Sight Unnecessarily

Priority 2: Supporting Independent Living

Priority 3: Creating an Inclusive Society

To deliver our strategy we have a dedicated UK campaigns team, including a Parliamentary unit which leads on campaigns which span the breadth of our 3 priority areas increasing public and political awareness of issues that are important to blind and partially sighted people.

We campaign and lobby to influence decision makers. We have strong links with government in the EU and Westminster and the devolved administrations in the UK

We work in partnership with other organisations to maximise the effectiveness of our campaigns.

The UK campaigns team work alongside campaigns and parliamentary teams in the devolved nations. These teams work on our national campaigns in addition to issues that are specific to the needs of blind and partially sighted people in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

RNIB's strategy is closely linked to the UK Vision Strategy - the UKVS is a cross-sector approach including sightloss charities, medical and professional bodies to prevent people losing their sight and create a world in which people who have sightloss can participate fully.
