Briefings

Whether it's campaigning for the Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance, extending disabled people's rights against discrimination or increasing access to TV and information, work in parliament plays a key role.

We work with MPs and Peers to influence Bills going through parliament, raise questions and debates, and hold government Ministers to account. Our Parliamentary campaigning activity plays a key role in raising awareness of the issues blind and partially sighted people face in everyday life and what steps can be taken to improve their lives.

RNIB and the College of Optometrists also provide the Secretariat support for the All Party Parliamentary Group on Eye Health and Visual Impairment. This is an influential group of MPs and Peers from across the political parties who meet regularly in Westminster to hear expert speakers and discuss topical issues relating to eye health and visual impairment.
