GMB
Welcome to GMB. We are a general trade union protecting people at work throughout the UK. With some 700,000 members, nearly 40% of whom are women, we represent workers in three broad sectors of the economy:
- Public services - especially local government and the health service
- Private services - especially retail distribution, airport services and the security industry.
- Private industry - especially engineering, food & drink, chemicals, building materials, clothing & textiles, and energy & utilities.
Our broad membership base means diversity is our strength. We draw on a wide repertoire of experience in all our dealings with our members and their employers.
