In October 2011, the UK will host WorldSkills London 2011; the largest, international vocational skills competition in the world. The WorldSkills Competition takes place in a different country every two years and the London event will bring together over 1000 young people from over 50 countries across the globe to compete in 45 skills ranging from welding to hairdressing to web design.

The four day event will be held at the ExCeL London exhibition and conference centre in the capital’s vibrant docklands. Visitors to the event will be encouraged to 'have a go' and try the trades of their choice with lots of people on hand, including our Premier Sponsor, City & Guilds, to offer advice on future career options and opportunities.

In the run up to the event, there will be a three-week Festival of Skills (19 September – 9 October 2011) allowing thousands of people across the UK to have a go at the skills on offer.
