Public Fundraising Regulatory Association
Information for Fundraising Organisations engaged in Face-to-Face fundraising
The PFRA works with 95% of the charities and fundraising organisations engaged in public fundraising by personal solicitation on the street and door to door.
The PFRA offers networking opportunities and the chance to drive forward standards in face-to-face fundraising. Crucially the PFRA can also offer access to sites for fundraising across the UK, guaranteeing your organisation will not be in competition with other fundraisers on the streets and a number of Local Authorities will only give access to PFRA members. The PFRA also receives regular enquiries from charities wishing to begin fundraising campaigns and looking for agencies to work with. As the PFRA never recommends one PFO over another, charities are invited to give their details which are circulated to all member agencies, who may then approach the charities if they can be of service.
The PFRA is also working with the Home Office and Institute of Fundraising on the future regulation on fundraising and has links to the Association of Town Centre Managers and Institute of Licensing. All members are bound by a strict code of conduct and new members are asked to undergo a self accreditation process after joining.
