Keep the home fires burning for our ageing population

Nine out of ten Britons (91 per cent) would make staying at home their first choice in old age, even if they needed assistance to do so. The research comes as the English Government prepares to overhaul the adult social care system this spring. With only 1 per cent of those surveyed choosing a traditional care home as their first preference, the Government must focus its review on strategies to support people to stay in their own homes.
