Tory flash and burn policies would decimate the public sector, and moving straight into this if the Tories are elected would strangle off the delicate economic recovery that is underway says GMB.
GMB commented on the statement today by the Tory Shadow Chancellor on cuts in public expenditure if they win the general election.
Brian Strutton GMB national secretary for public services said "The Tories seem to be chopping and changing their position on public spending almost daily. After a series of softer messages from Cameron, Osborne is now going back to his wartime austerity package that he set out at their conference last September.
His flash and burn policies would decimate the public sector and moving straight into this if the Tories were elected would strangle off the delicate economic recovery that is underway. That would be a recipe for mass unemployment on a huge scale."
