Press Release
Rotary Clubs support Tesco National Collection for Barnardo’s
September 29th and 30th
Rotary Clubs throughout the country will be supporting the Tesco National Collection for Barnardo’s on Friday 29th September and Saturday 30th September
at Tesco stores across the UK. Rotarians will join other Barnardo’s volunteer groups with the aim of raising £250,000 at 480 Tesco stores.
Peter Offer, President of Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland, said “ We are pleased to support Barnardo’s to help them maximise this opportunity. We know that the money raised will make a difference to the 120,000 disadvantaged children and young people Barnardo’s works with across the UK.”
Barnardo’s is one of the preferred charities for RIBI (Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland) fundraising activities in 2006/7 – a relationship which will involve Rotarians supporting Barnardo’s projects and raising vital funds for the Charity’s work with disadvantaged children and young people.
There is still the opportunity for volunteers to come forward and meet others in their area in joining thousands across the UK in collecting loose change from shoppers at Tesco’s stores nationwide. Anyone wanting to get involved should call the helpline: 0845 769 7967.
