ROTARY AND SCOUTING CHIEFS MEET AT SCOUT WORLD JAMBOREE
August 17th 2007
President of Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland Allan Jagger, a Scout of many years standing, and currently President of the West Yorkshire Scouts Council, was present at the World Jamboree in Essex celebrating 100 years of scouting. He met Dr. Eduardo Missoni the Secretary General Scouts, who will be a key note speaker at the Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland Blackpool Conference. Allan said “Scouting and Rotary share core values. The need to engage with young people is a major focus for Rotary and will be an important theme at the 2008 Conference and this latest addition to the list of high profile speakers emphasises this necessary aspect of Rotary”.
