Northgate's response to the publication of the Home Information Pack Area Trials Research Report
6th March 2008
Commenting on the Home Information Pack Area Trials Research Report, Russell Osborne, Managing Director of Land & Property at Northgate Information Solutions, said:
"Today’s research has shown that Energy Performance Certificates within home information packs can play a vital role in changing attitudes and behaviour around home energy efficiency. Yet nearly 60% of the buyers interviewed during the trials would have preferred to see the contents of the HIP at an earlier stage, rather than once they had made an offer on the property. We want to see EPCs provided automatically to prospective purchasers, rather than on demand. We believe this will help to raise awareness and encourage consumers to act on the information and rise to the challenge of climate change."
