Press Release
Nominations open for the 2008 ICT and National Apprenticeship Awards
Following the success of the ICT Sector Apprenticeship Awards in 2006 and 2007, e-skills UK will once again recognise the achievements of apprentices and employers in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector, as part of the LSC 2008 National Apprenticeship Awards.
Now in their fifth year, the National Apprenticeship Awards serve to recognise and applaud the efforts of employers who are committed to training and developing the skills of young people, and have made a significant contribution towards improving the nation’s skills shortages, productivity and competitiveness.
The Awards also reward individual apprentices who have or continue to exceed their employer's or learning provider's expectations, while presenting learning providers with the opportunity to gain acknowledgment for their contribution towards successful Apprenticeships.
e-skills UK are keen to encourage employers and learning providers in the ICT sector to nominate as many of their deserving apprentices for the Awards as possible. To be eligible for the ICT sector categories as well as of the National Awards, please ensure e-skills UK is highlighted as the nominee’s relevant Sector Skills Council on the application form.
The ICT sector categories will recognise excellence in the sector for Apprentice, Advanced Apprentice and Personal Achiever.
For more information or to enter the National Awards, visit www.apprenticeships.org.uk/awards or call the Awards helpline on 0800 954 8896. Deadline for entries to the Awards is 29th February 2008, with the winners announced in July 2008.
