New man at the top
28 January 2008: The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) is pleased to announce that Tom Morrison FCIS FCIBS has been named as the ICSA’s President for the UK, Republic of Ireland and Associated Territories for the forthcoming year. He is currently Vice President of the Global Capital Markets Group at Computershare and its UK Chief Registrar.
Before joining the registration business in Edinburgh in 1991, Tom gained valuable experience as Assistant Group Secretary of The Royal Bank of Scotland. This experience, coupled with qualifications leading to the Fellowship of both the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland, has established him as one of the best regarded figures in the industry. He is a past chairman of the British Bankers’ Association Registrars’ and Receiving Bankers’ Committee and of the ICSA Registrars’ Group, as well as an official ICSA advisor. He holds a number of other current Industry group posts, including membership of the London Stock Exchange’s Scottish Advisory Group.
‘I am very pleased to be taking on the role of President’ said Tom. ‘ With the appointment of Roger Dickinson in October 2007 as the Institute’s Chief Executive, this will be an exciting year of change with new initiatives and opportunities to be pursued on behalf of the members and companies, as well as maintaining the traditions we have upheld since the Institute was formed in 1891.’
