New Apartments Bring Greater Independence And Choice For Older People

9 May 2008
A major project providing first-class housing care for older people in Coventry has been officially opened.
During the last 12 months Anchor Trust has built and is now running five new housing and care developments as part of a 25-year Private Finance deal with Coventry City council.
The most recently completed, Leofric Court Integrated Care and Housing scheme, hosted the formal launch on Tuesday 6 May.
Anchor’s Integrated Care and Housing model gives older people the independence of their own flat with the reassurance an on-site care team to provide support whenever needed.
Increasing choice and independence for older people in this way was highlighted as the way forward in the Government’s new housing strategy for older people.
Leofric Court tenants David and Emily Gemmell showed their new apartment to Anchor’s patron, Her Royal Highness Princess Alexandra, who was guest of honour at the opening.
