Intellect comments on data sharing review
Friday, July 11 2008
Intellect, the UK trade association for the technology industry, welcomes the publication of the Information Commissioner’s Data Sharing Review Report earlier today.
Intellect believes that the extensive consultation undertaken by the report’s authors with the technology industry and other stakeholders, was extremely beneficial.
Nick Kalisperas, director of public sector at Intellect, comments, "Data security is not just about technology – it is also about procedure and business process. If we ignore this, data will most certainly be at risk.
"We are very encouraged by the way the Information Commissioner has engaged with our industry. Many of our concerns and opinions that we shared with the report authors have been included in the review and we are looking forward to working with the government on implementing the report’s recommendations."
