General Teaching Council comments on STRB report out today

Responding to today’s STRB report on teachers' pay, GTC Chief Executive Carol Adams says:

“It is still a matter of chance and luck whether teachers have access to good professional development. Significant numbers of teachers still cannot get the support they need to develop their practice.* With a closer link between the outcomes of CPD and pay progression, it is vital that all teachers have fair access to high quality development.

"We strongly endorse the Review Body’s position that continuing professional development is integral to teacher professionalism and has a positive impact on pupils’ learning.”
