FLA WELCOMES DATA SHARING REVIEW

Responding to the publication today of a joint consultation by the Information Commissioner and Dr Mark Walport to review the sharing of personal information, Stephen Sklaroff, Finance & Leasing Association (FLA) Director General said:
"We fully support the data sharing review. The processing of personal information is crucial to the finance industry, and proper and full data sharing enables lenders to make responsible lending decisions. A proper balance needs to be struck between the prevention of fraud and the needs of responsible lending. We look forward to participating in the debate."
