FLA RESPONDS TO PAYMENT PROTECTION INSURANCE REFUNDS AGREEMENT STATEMENT
29 March 2007
The Finance & Leasing Association (FLA) welcomes the Financial Services Authority’s (FSA) recognition of constructive efforts of industry to ensure that consumers get a better deal from payment protection insurance (PPI).
Over the last 12 months, FLA members have ensured consumers who cancel PPI early get some kind of refund. The agreement announced today recognises the benefit to consumers of this industry initiative. It also properly reflects that PPI policies differ. Consumers are entitled to exercise their choice.
FLA Director General, Martin Hall, said:
“FLA is working with the FSA to ensure that any future rule changes are both proportionate and targeted.”
