FLA CONSUMER CREDIT CONVENTION 2006
25 July 2006
As a vast amount of regulation and red tape continues to be imposed on consumer credit businesses, what are the future trends for the market?
This conference from Finance & Leasing Association (FLA) addresses emerging issues and the opportunities they present – lenders will have a chance to learn about the implications of the Consumer Credit Act 2006, the proposed Consumer Credit Directive and the role of the FSA and OFT in regulation.
An audience of industry professionals will hear senior officials from DTI, FSA and OFT and Trading Standards give an overview of regulation and enforcement, financial inclusion and financial capability, and over-indebtedness. Industry speakers will look at the consumer credit environment and at data sharing and the importance of making informed lending decisions.
The penultimate session will see a panel debate on responding to consumers, with panellists from the Financial Ombudsman, FLA lending code group and a consumer body, chaired by Liz Barclay (Radio 4 – You and Yours).
The one day conference, being held at One Whitehall on Thursday 14 September concludes with a presentation on what the future holds for the consumer credit industry by Defaqto.
