FLA CONFERENCE TO SPOTLIGHT DRIVE AGAINST FINANCIAL CRIME

Combating money laundering, vehicle fraud and other finance related crime will be the focus of a major one-day conference in London in October organised by FLA (Finance & Leasing Association).

FLA’s Financial Crime Conference 2006 on 17 October is an opportunity to hear the from senior figures directly involved in combating financial crime including the FSA, the Home Office, the Metropolitan Police and the Serious Organised Crime Agency. Amongst the topics featured are the Government’s Fraud Review and implementation of the Third Money Laundering Directive. 

Martin Hall, Chairman of the Joint Money Laundering Steering Group (JMLSG) and Director General of FLA, will chair the conference. Speakers include Paul Evans of the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA), Rob Grupetta of the Financial Services Authority, Stephen Webb of the Home Office and Paul Salt and Steve Truick of the Metropolitan Police.

There will be a range of breakout workshops where delegates can pick up new tips from industry figures on protecting against asset finance fraud; learning about money laundering; finding out about vehicle fraud and CIFAS.

There will also be two additional plenary sessions – both practical in approach - with advice on how to develop financial crime strategies for your firm.

This is an essential event for all those involved in the field of financial crime such as fraud prevention and investigation professionals, compliance and money laundering officers and credit and operations directors.
