CILT launches Digital video Pathfinder
8 November 2007
Teachers looking to explore using digital video in language learning can draw on a new practical resource following the publication of Lights, camera, action!: Digital video in the languages classroom.
Written by CILT Language Teaching Advisers Ruth Bailey and Claire Dugard, this New Pathfinder examines how digital video can enrich language learning and teaching by motivating pupils, encouraging creativity and offering opportunities for effective language practice.
Supported by examples from successful projects, Lights, camera, action! gives teachers practical advice on getting started with digital video in the MFL classroom. It looks at how teachers can develop their materials and plan film-making projects. This new publication includes guidance on the technical aspects, editing films, using your films as teaching resources and on planning activities -- from basic plot outlines to health and safety considerations.
Lights, camera, action!: Digital video in the languages classroom is published by CILT, the National Centre for Languages as part of its New Pathfinder series and is available from Central Books, www.centralbooks.com.
