CII APPOINTS GI BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) has appointed Norrie Erwin ACII, Chartered Insurer as its new business development director for the general insurance sector.
Currently the sales director at CAPITA Affinity Services, Norrie Erwin has over 30 years experience in the insurance industry and has held roles at a range of organisations including Legal & General, Norwich Union and the National Australia Group.
He will report to the CII group marketing and sales director Lee Gladwell who says, “Norrie Erwin will considerably strengthen our business development team and I am delighted that we have been able to attract someone of his calibre to the CII. He brings a wealth of major account management experience, has a highly successful business development track record and his leadership skills will be invaluable to help the CII support the business objectives of our customers through our new partnership approach.”
The CII also has a business development team specifically for the financial services market, led by its director Steve Jenkins, which is concentrating on supporting the life and pensions, distribution, mortgage, banking and building society markets.
Lee Gladwell comments, “Many companies are now looking more closely at how they can improve technical skills across their operations. We’ve further developed our corporate solutions to include training, online support, accreditation, consultancy, qualifications and other services in a single partnership framework. This is generating a lot of interest and Norrie’s appointment will help us to take this strategy forward.”
The business development teams are based throughout the UK, while the CII has dedicated offices in Dubai and in Singapore to ensure the specific needs of those regions are fulfilled.
