Children's charity CEO receives honour from the Queen

19 October 2009

Chance UK's Chief Executive, Gracia McGrath OBE, officially received her honour from the Queen at the investiture ceremony at Buckingham Palace on Thursday 15th October.

The Queen conducted the ceremony in the Ballroom of Buckingham Palace, which was witnessed by several members of Gracia's family.

Gracia received her honour in the Queen's Birthday Honours list in June in recognition of her services to children with special needs.

Gracia said, "The whole experience was one of the best days of my life. The Queen talked to me about the work that Chance UK does, saying that it was great we worked with children from such a young age. It made me extremely proud of the work that all our staff and mentors do for them."

Chance UK provides volunteer mentors for primary-aged children with behavioural difficulties at risk of developing anti-social and criminal behaviour across the UK.
