CCCS WELCOMES MORE FUNDING FOR DEBT ADVICE
The Consumer Credit Counselling Service welcomes today's news from Consumer Minister Gerry Sutcliffe of a £45 million fund to provide face-to-face debt counselling for the vulnerable in society.
Chairman Malcolm Hurlston said of the announcement:
"The decision to target areas with high levels of financial exclusion and disadvantaged social groups is a good one. These are the people most in need of help.
"Borrowers with credit and store cards are increasingly finding their way to our free and independent service. Demand has doubled over the past two years."
