Business response to Investing in Recovery - joint report from GLA and London Councils

Baroness Jo Valentine, chief executive of influential business group London First welcomed the joint GLA/London Councils report. She said:

"London taxes support schools, hospitals and other services for the rest of the country and we need a fairer cut of the resources we generate to address our own challenges. London's transport and other infrastructure need investment, to make up for decades of patch-up and neglect, while the social challenges inherent to a cosmopolitan capital city also need to be met. To do this, London should keep more of the resource it generates and have the freedom to address local problems according to local priorities."
