Dr Doug Naysmith

Labour Party | Bristol North West

Home

Since 1997 I have been the Labour and Co-operative Member of Parliament for Bristol North West but three years ago I decided that I would step down at the next General Election, whenever it would be held. This was a hard decision, as I have enjoyed my time representing Bristol North West, but I am in my late sixties and thought it was time to hand over to someone younger.

As soon as the election is announced I will cease to be an MP so I am going to say, "Goodbye and thank you" now to all of you who have visited my website over the years.

Until the election is called, however, I am still open for business. If you would like to contact me about a problem or something that concerns you, please write to me at Unit 6, Greenway Business Centre, Doncaster Road, Bristol BS10 5PY, phone 0117 9502385 or email me, including your name and address. I will do my best to help.

"Doug Naysmith, MP for Bristol North West, and the two men who hope to step into his shoes at the next election were invited to take two "community heroes" to 10 Downing Street to meet the Prime Minister.

Gordon Brown held the reception in honour of people who serve the community in a variety of ways. Doug said, "There are so many people who deserve recognition for the contribution they make to their communities. We all appreciate the fact that Gordon takes time from his very busy schedule to meet some of them to say 'thank you'".
