Constituency
A mix of town and rural, the Workington constituency covers northwest Cumbria. It includes the coastal towns of Workington, Maryport and Silloth as well as Aspatria which lies midway between the Solway and the Lake District. Picturesque Cockermouth and Keswick complete the sixtowns of the constituency. The Workington and Maryport area has a history connected to steel,mining, the port and fishing. The northern area has good agricultural landand a beautiful coastline. The more southern and easterly parts have anattractive landscape encompassing much of the National Park, with sixlakes and well known fells such as Skiddaw and Borrowdale.
