Cash Machine Transparency

Sandra is supporting a new campaign to protect the free cash machine network and ensure that consumers who do not want to pay charges are able to make that choice (see Press Release 28 November)
UEF Pensions
Sandra has campaigned for three years to get compensation for the UEF workers in Ayr who lost their pensions after going into administration. The Government have brought in a Pension Protection Fund to safeguard future losses and now as a result of the campaign by Trade Unions and MPs like Sandra, the Government have agreed to a compensation package for the 60,000 workers, including UEF, who had already lost their pensions.

The Beat goes on
On Saturday 8 July, at 12 noon, thousands of people took part in a world record attempt to drum home the trade justice message to the UK government.
Sandra joined Christian Aid activists in Ayr to form just one of 120 noisy, colourful events at festivals, fairs and in town centres throughout the country
India
Sandra took part in a delegation of Labour women MPs to India. The visit included discussions on various aspects of women's position in India; bilateral trade between India and the UK and the security situation relating to the Kashmir dispute with India. The group also visited a project funded by the UK Department of International Development in a slum area of West Bengal.
International Development
Sandra has worked closely with the international development campaign organisations and NGOs to promote debt relief, development support and fair trade for the world's poorest countries
