Erewash Constituency
Erewash is in Derbyshire, on the border with Nottinghamshire, between Nottingham and . Ilkeston and Long Eaton are both market towns and together with the smaller town of , together with villages such as West Hallam, Sawley, Stanton-by-Dale, Breaston, Cotmanhay, Ockbrook and Borrowash make up the rest of the constituency. The constituency takes its name from the River Erewash on the boundary with Nottinghamshire.
Erewash is located in the heart of , and is easily reached by the M1, and by trains from Long Eaton Station running to , Leicester, , Nottingham and . airport is a rapidly growing hub for air travel, and although not in the constituency, it is only a few miles away. This convenient location is good for business and also for tourism, with excellent bus and train services and good roads making it easy to reach the Peak District, and stately homes such as Chatsworth House.
Erewash Partnership, a group comprised of Borough and County Councils, Chamber of Commerce, Business Link, over 200 businesses, community organisations and educational establishments, has promoted business in the area since 1994.
I represent a diverse community, the majority living in the towns, but a significant number of people also live in the beautiful rural landscape which can be found around Erewash.
