More about Wentworth

Wentworth encompasses areas to the north and east of Rotherham within the Dearne and Rother Valleys.

It is divided into seven Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council wards:

  • Wickersley, Bramley and Ravenfield
  • Brampton, Melton and Wentworth
  • Dalton, Hooton Roberts and Thrybergh
  • Rawmarsh East
  • Rawmarsh West
  • Swinton
  • Wath

Traditionally, Wentworth has been a highly industrialised area, with large coal and steel sectors. The local economy is now experiencing a transition into new technology and specialist engineering sectors, founded on the expansion of high-quality academic and professional education services.
