Welcome to my website. Without too much difficulty you can locate here my monthly report, major parliamentary interventions, articles, and news on other activities in which I have been involved.
Our community is a lively place with a huge variety of political and cultural activities taking place. Above all, I feel very strongly that the shortage of housing for rent, leaving so many in desperate need, is the biggest problem, as are the levels of poverty amongst some people, including pensioners. Whilst I welcome the large amounts of capital monies the government has allocated to Islington, I still want more, and I continue to lobby the government about this.
I am happy to work with tenants' and local residents' groups to improve their situation.
Locally I am a trustee of both the Highbury Vale and Blackstock Trust, and Hanley Crouch Community Association. I am a patron of Mitford Under Fives, Centre 404, the Refugee Therapy Centre and Islington Music Forum. Along with Lord (Chris) Smith of Finsbury I am joint President of Islington Pensioners Forum and I also sit on the Parliamentary Panel of the Greater London Pensioners Forum.
Geographically, Islington North is the smallest constituency in the UK and the most densely populated, therefore open space and environmental concerns are of the utmost importance. I have been involved in a number of organisations which have championed these issues (including Local Agenda 21 and Islington Environmental Forum) and you can find out more about my work by linking to my biography.
Best wishes
Jeremy Corbyn MP
