David Crausby

Biography

David Anthony Crausby was born in Bury on 17 June 1946 and was educated at Derby Grammar School, Bury and Bury Technical College. He became an apprentice centre lathe turner in 1962, leaving in 1978 to take up the position of AEEU convenor at Bolton engineering company Beloit Walmsley, where he remained until his election to the House of Commons in 1997. He was elected as a councillor in 1979 to Bury District Council, serving as Chair of Housing from 1985-92.

He was Parliamentary candidate in Bury North (1987) and Bolton North East (1992). He has been the Labour Member for Bolton North East since the 1 May 1997 general election.
He has been married to Enid Anne Noon since 1965 and they have two sons.
