Biography

Born December 13th 1944 daughter of the late Daniel Jones, MP for Burnley 1959-83 and the late Phyllis Jones.

Educated at Ynyshir Girls School, Burnley Municipal College, Nottingham University (BA Hons) and Durham University (MA).

Married David Taylor on 18 July 1970

Parliamentary Responsibilities:

Dari is now Parliamentary Private Secretary to Hazel Blears MP, Minister of State responsible for crime reduction, policing and community safety. Before that, Dari was Parliamentary Private Secretary to two defence ministers: Dr Lewis Moonie (Parliamentary Under Secretary of State and Minister for Veterans), and Lord Bach of Lutterworth (Parliamentary Under Secretary of State and Minister for Defence Procurement).

Treasurer for the All Party Chemicals Group, the All Party Adoption Group, the All Party All Cancers Group, the All Party Breast Cancer Group and the All Party Opera Group.
Vice Chair of the Labour Women's Forum.
Member of the GMB group of MPs and the All Party Tap Dancing Group.
Was a member of the Defence Select Committee until late spring 1999.
