Brian Jenkins
Constituency
This wide and diverse Constituency consists of the urban centre of Tamworth, which still falls just below the size of electorate needed for a constituency, plus generous numbers of rural electors in parts of Lichfield District to the north and west of Tamworth town centre. The Constituency is blessed with spectacular scenery and a strong rural community, having a substantial number of farming communities and delightful small villages who host a wide array of traditional country pubs.
Tamworth is a thriving market town, with weekly markets and a bustling shopping centre as well as out of town retail parks. Dominating the town is the 12th century Norman motte and bailey Castle. Surrounding it are sturdy battlements, ramparts and the Pleasure Grounds with their magnificent floral terraces.

Tamworth lies at the very heart of the country's communications network with two major Midlands airports less than 20 miles away, a main line railway station and direct access to the national motorway system.
Throughout the borough there are many visible signs which display a determination to maintain a balance between preserving and enhancing its heritage, while introducing the exciting infrastructure and developments required for successful adaptation to life and business today and in the future. Arts, entertainment, sport and leisure facilities abound and the Snowdome, featuring Britain's first indoor real ski slope, has placed the area firmly in the 21st Century. Tamworth has everything for everyone both in the town and in the surrounding countryside.
