I was delighted to open the new £1.6million extension of Westmorland Primary School in Brinnington with Martin Henderson, the headteacher. I am sure the children's learning will benefit from everything the new facilities have to offer.

I was delighted to look around the new facilities at St Bernadette's recently and meet the children in Year 6. This is a great school - I have congratulated them on their outstanding OFSTED report.

Ann, pictured here with Royal British Legion fundraiser Eddie Coram of Offerton, has signed up to the RBL's "Time to do your Bit" campaign, which calls for improved support for armed forces families.

Ann invited the Minister for Arts and Heritage, Rt Hon Margaret Hodge MBE MP, to visit Stockport Plaza on 28th January. The Minister was shown round by Nigel Anderton, Chair of Stockport Plaza Board – seen here pointing out some of the Plaza’s wonderfully restored features.

Ann visited the Stockport Oxfam shop on 8th January and is pictured here with Claire Wood, the shop manager, encouraging people to make their donations go further with Gift Aid, which gives 28p back to Oxfam for every £1 worth of goods sold in the shop.

Ann enjoyed a warm welcome during her recent visit to Russell Gardens in Heaton Mersey, a housing scheme which is having modernisation work carried out.
