Biography

ABOUT ANGELA


Angela was a Sales and Training Manager at GEC Hotpoint from 1976 to 1986. She was the Advisor to the Department of Employment on Women Employment, and from 1985-1992, she was a Self-employed Management Consultant specialising in corporate communication training.

She is a Specialist Counsellor to the National Autistic Society, and Vice-President to the Alzheimer's Disease Society. She is married with two adult sons.

Angela's Experience

Angela is Member of Parliament for Tiverton and Honiton, and was elected to Parliament in 1992. She is currently a Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party, with responsibility for Party organisation and campaigning.

She served as Shadow Leader of the House of Commons & Constitutional Affairs from September 2000 to September 2001. From 2001 to 2003, she was a Vice Chairman of the Conservative Party.

From 1999 to 2000, she was Shadow Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, from 1997-1998 Shadow Spokesman on Education and Disability, and from 1994-1997 Parliamentary Secretary, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.

From 1995-1997 she was the Government Co-Chairman, for the Women's National Commission. Angela is a Vice President of the Institute of Sales and Marketing Management.
