Albert Owen MP

Albert has been Member of Parliament for Anglesey since 2001.
Albert was born to William and Doreen on 10 August 1959. He attended Holyhead County Comprehensive School and joined the Merchant Navy in 1976.
Before becoming an MP Albert returned to his studies, gaining a diploma in industrial relations in 1994 and a degree in politics from the University of York in 1997. During this time he also worked as a welfare and employment advisor, first for the Citizens' Advice Bureau and then for Anglesey County Council.
Albert is also a member of the Welsh Affairs Select Committee.
He is married to Angela and has two daughters.
Outside parliament he takes an active interest in preserving Ynys Mon's beautiful natural environment. Albert enjoys sport, and has run in the London Marathon.
