Rt Hon Dr Denis MacShane
MP OPENS SAFER NEIGHBOURHOOD OFFICE

Denis MacShane together with local councillors, police officers and council officials has welcomed the new Safer Neighbourhood Team office now open in Kimberworth. Speaking at the opening ceremony MacShane said: "This is part of the government's unceasing drive against anti-social behaviour and to develop respect for all in the community. A dedicated team of police officers, together with newly recruited uniformed police support officers will be out and about, on foot, on bikes, on the buses and in cars to help people in the Kimberworth, Thorpe Hesley, Greasbrough, Wingfield and Masbrough areas of Rotherham. This is joined-up team working with housing, family and social service specialists working together with the police to try and stop problems before they develop into threats to the community or actual crimes. I will be joining them on patrols and I regard this initiative as one of the most important in Rotherham in recent years."
