Tommy McAvoy visits Calderside Academy

Rutherglen and Hamilton West MP, Tommy McAvoy was delighted to visit Calderside Academy recently. There he was given a tour of the new school building and was quizzed on the work that he does by third year pupils.

Mr McAvoy said, "Everyone can be very proud of the pupils at Calderside. They have shown me great hospitality and seem to be genuinely interested in what I do to represent them. They are a credit to their families and their communities.

"It is clear that the new facilities are providing a better learning environment for both pupils and staff. It shows that the pupils here are valued extremely highly and I am certain that they will continue to benefit from this tangible investment in the future."
