Spice of India restaurant is highly commended in Tiffin Cup 2009

The Spice of India restaurant of Front Lane, Cranham has been Highly Commended in the prestigious Tiffin Cup competition. The competition is held each year to find the best South Asian restaurant in the country.
The Tiffin Cup winner is chosen from a list of restaurants that have been nominated by local MPs. This year 58 restaurants were nominated from the largest cities to the smallest towns right across the country.
The Spice of India restaurant together with Mr S Alam was nominated by Local MP, Angela Watkinson.
Keith Vaz MP, the co chair of the Tiffin Cup judging panel said:
"We are delighted that Spice of India restaurant has been Highly Commended in the Tiffin Cup 2009. This is a great tribute not just to the customers but also to the quality of restaurants in Upminster as a whole."
Angela said "I am of course disappointed that my favourite is not in the final, but delighted that they have been Highly Commended in the competition. This is such a prestigious award, to be honoured in this way is a testament to the fantastic efforts of Mr S Alam and all the staff at Spices of India."
