Simon Burns MP appalled at situation regarding a phone mast outside Kings Road Primary School
1 May 2009
Commenting, Simon Burns MP said:
"I am appalled to learn that a phone mast has been erected outside Kings Road Primary School.
"Two previous planning applications have been made and on both occasions, with dozens of other concerned individuals, I wrote to the Planning Department urging rejection of the application because it was to be erected so close to the school. Fortunately, on both occasions, Chelmsford Borough Council, to their credit, rejected the applications.
"I am appalled to learn now that a mast has been erected. If this is in defiance of the planning procedures, this is an arrogant disgrace and I have written to the Director of Planning at Chelmsford Borough Council urging him to use every legal means possible to have the mast removed."
