Schools sign up to National School Sport Week
26 June 2009
Local MP Tom Brake has pledged his support for a scheme that aims to inspire young people to become more active through sports.
Lloyds TBS National School Sport Week, which runs from 29 June to 3 July 2009, seeks to encourage young people to become more involved in sport in the run-up to the 2012 Olympics.
Many schools within Carshalton and Wallington have already signed up online for their free Teacher Planning Pack. Parents can also log in to see if their school is registered.
Tom Brake, Liberal Democrat MP for Carshalton and Wallington and Lib Dem Olympic Spokesman, commented that, 'This is a great scheme that will help young people become more active in their everyday life as well as emphasizing the importance of a lively lifestyle in a way that appeals to young people everywhere.'
'I am confident that this year's National Sport Week will help make our children that little bit more active'
