Priestnall pupils let talent shine for MP
July 6 2009
Stockport MP Ann Coffey is visiting Priestnall High School during Shine week, a national schools festival showcasing the talents of all our young people. The school is using Shine Week to put on an art show and a Shine Music Concert with pieces from the school's recent "Wacky Winds" project with the Halle Orchestra.
Priestnall has already been awarded an Artsmark Gold, the highest level of recognition in the scheme run by the Arts Council of England. Artsmark recognises the achievement of Priestnall students across all the expressive arts, including art, dance, drama, music and media studies.
Shine, www.shineweek.co.uk, is organised by Creativity, Culture and Education and is supported by the Department for Children, Schools and Families and the Arts Council. This is its second year, and participating schools can upload film, sound, word and pictures on their own school page, as well as receiving a pack with posters, certificates and stickers to help them with their own events.

"Everyone has a talent in something, and Priestnall is showing the way in bringing out the talents of all its students!"
