Parliament told of local hospitals success
25 March 2009
Infection rates for MRSA and C difficile have fallen significantly in local hospitals, Erewash MP Liz Blackman told the House of Commons on Wednesday (25th March).
In a question to Harriet Harman, who was standing in for Gordon Brown at Prime Minister's Questions, Liz Blackman pointed out that Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, Derby Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the excellent Ilkeston Community Hospital had all achieved significant reductions in their infection rates.
She asked 'Is it not down to the incredible hard work of NHS staff, coupled with the targeted investment by this Government?'
Ms Harman agreed and congratulated all those involved.
