    Ogmore School Visit to Parliament

Year 12 and 13 students from Ogmore School travelled to Westminster today to take an official tour of Parliament and meet with their local MP, Huw Irranca-Davies.

The group of 26 AS and A2 students are currently studying the Great Reform Act and the Repeal of the Corn Laws and their teacher, Barrie Evans, thought that a trip to Parliament would enrich and enliven their coursework.

Huw Irranca-Davies met them after their tour and took them to one of the famous Committee Rooms at the House of Commons for a question and answer session about his work as an MP.

    Huw Irranca-Davies said:

“I’m really glad that I had an opportunity to meet with the students from Ogmore School. I’m sure that they found their visit to Parliament to be a rewarding and engaging way to enhance their study of British history.

“If any other local schools would like to arrange a visit to Parliament, or would like me to come talk to the students, then please get in touch”.
