MP visits lido fire

Aberavon MP, Dr Hywel Francis, this morning visited the scene of the Afan Lido fire to thank the staff of the centre and the emergency services for the prompt and professional action they took last night.
Dr Francis said,
"I wish to thank all the Afan Lido staff for the speedy way they evacuated the building once the fire had occurred. This meant there was no loss of life or any injuries."
"I have also thanked all the emergency services for their professionalism in containing the fire. The Fire Service, Welsh Water, the Police and Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council have all worked exceptionally well together to prevent any loss of life."
"As the local Member of Parliament I will undertake to work with NPTCBC and all other agencies to ensure that facilities will be replaced for the people of the locality"
