MP bags himself a stylish new bag

    5th June 2008

MPs took their old curtains, bedspreads and sheets to work on Thursday 5th June as part of an Environment Agency campaign to get people to 'adapt to Climate change'.

Michael Clapham MP supports the marking of World Environment Day and has made himself a Morsbag to ensure he does not need to use plastic bags again.

Michael said, "Plastic bags are given away in abundance by supermarkets resulting in damaging to our environment as well as looking unsightly. They stifle plant and animal life and have caused a great deal of harm in our rivers and oceans. I am pleased that supermarkets are now becoming more aware of the damage caused and are attempting to cut down of the use of plastic bags."

The MP wants to get people thinking about climate change and how we can help to prevent its acceleration. The memory of the floods in Barnsley last year confirms the rapid change and we don't want this to be repeated.

The MP pledged to use less water and less energy. He says it is easy to make the Morsbag out of any recycled material and it will last and last and make you look stylish. He is hoping that this will be a new upmarket trend and plastic bags will be a thing of the past.
